The Quiet Ride Home

Sometimes I get pretty sad over the fact that I’m childless and most likely will remain that way (although Abraham and Sarah remain a pretty powerful testimony that anything is possible with God!). It’s hard to live in a world where seemingly everyone is paired off with 2.3 children and singles (especially childless singles) are the odd persons out, particularly at church.

Then there are times like tonight when I enter the grocery store at the same time as a father with two pre-school aged children in tow, one of whom screams and cries for the whole store to hear THE.ENTIRE.TIME. Suddenly getting into my quiet, peaceful, childless car and driving home to my quiet, peaceful, childless house doesn’t seem so bad after all.

God bless you parents.
